CCM va (A lack of) Heart's

 Players of the Match
3pts -  WeeMac
2pts -  Ryan
1pt  - Pedj (the goal edged him in front of Rogic) and Tesco got a point as well

It's been said that the game was another ugly performance but a decent result.....BUT, lets get one thing out of the way at the start..how good was that ref?...he didnt make the game all about himself and he was pretty straight, right down the middle, good to see, CLONE HIM...

All in all, we were solid, but lacked the fluency and speed of transition that we played in the first half against the Jest last week. Look forward to seeing more of that in the coming weeks

I'm always happier to see us seek a backwards relieving ball than mindlessly lumping it forward, and when we dropped it in to Matt Ryan he almost always found a forward option in a blue shirt. That's good football - recycle the ball and advance it safely when you can.

It's early days yet and the players are still getting used to a new system. Last year we didn't really start firing till the 5th or 6th game. I think with a bit of fine tuning we will get there,I think, the whole team will improve once Olly gets back on the pitch full time, dont know why, I just have the feeling that its gonna be Olly's year

Tell you what though, I really thought that Aloi$i was gonna run out of live stock the way his boys were dropping, looked to me like his running them too hard

We've got a bunch of players who are quite useful in this shape, and I thought we actually played a very good controlling, comfortable brand of football. We created chances too - Rogic had a good game that was just let down by being too slow to release on a couple of occasions, and we bring the fullbacks into play pretty well.

With that set up with two defensive middies and no top line striker we are in for a long season of dour boring Football.

here are some more comments from Arnie post-game from (442):

"I was very happy again with our defensive structure,"
"We work hard on our defence, we didn't give too much away. Three clean sheets in four games, our defence is strong, we've just got to keep working and keep working hard on our attacking shape."
"We've changed our system to suit the personnel that we've got, so it's taking a little bit of time to get going forward," he said.
"If you're defensively strong it builds confidence, it gives you ... the opportunity to stay in the game.
"I feel our build up is quite good, I'm quite happy with that.
"Our transition from defence into attack is letting us down at the moment. We're being a little bit negative when we win the ball at the back.
"What we were good at (last season) was breaking forward with the ball and the first pass going forward, moving forward as a unit.
"Sometimes now, at the moment, it's like the first pass will go forward and the second will go back."

Lets rate the team out of 10, shall we, and by all means correct me, this is only my brain thinking out loud

Matty Ryan 8/10 - 40% clean sheets, kid's a machine, needs to get overseas and make some noise (and some coin) BUT, he can wait a year.
Rosey 7/10 -  This was a much better game from Josh, he will only improve once Olly gets back.
Dutchy 7/10 -  Solid as a well built dyke (keep it clean people)
Tesco 7.5/10 -  If Trent keeps going at this rate reckon he will be a better player than Wilko at the same age.
Pedj 7.5/10  - I wouldnt of thought he had it in him, but what a cracking goal and he done pretty good on the defence as well.
Sterj. 6.5/10 -  Looked a bit fitter, I will give his old pins some slack at this stage and besides he nearly scored a great goal.
Hutcho 7/10 -  Looked great in the first half but virtually vanished in the second half
Monty 7/10 -  Reasonable game again and that one superb ball to Bernie late in the game was brilliant, and Nick is possibly are only player in the team that likes to play one touch, far as i'm concerned , he can keep it up
WeeMac 8/10 - . Much better game that the jests game, although that dodgy ref display mighjt of made him a bit gun shy last week, anyway he had good game and alongside Rogic was a threat.
Rojic 7.5/10 - Looked classy at times, BUT, people gotta stop comparing him to Musti, it aint fair on the kid, his a different style to Amini
McBreen 6.5/10 Tried hard but not much of a threat, definately a 65min sub/strike player

Subs...all did there job without any wow factor.

I enjoyed watching the game, but I can see how others might not. I have to say though, for us to get good at football as a nation, we need to accept that quality must win over entertainment and to be honest we're now the club playing the quality stuff across the park...And as the missus's said in response to people decrying boring football.... It's football, not cabaret.

.Next week is Del Pierro and his 10 mate's in the same shirt, Stade de Mariner will more than likely be chock full of casual fans, so the Italian legend is doing the game some good I guess, having said that, his  gonna run into a Dutch man that isn't intimidated by his rep and the Dutchman, is going to have his star apprentice right beside him...lets hope the ref aint a dickhead
