MY god, what a stinking hot day that was....I'm very surprised that a drinks break wasnt called for, maybe the FFA are waiting for a player to drop dead on the park before they utilise the drinks break again.....to the game
Once again the argument for cloning Steje Debrovski was cemented...HEY GALLOP, FIX THESE GODAWFUL REFFING PERFORMANCES.....
You know I feel sorry for, in a minimalist way of course, Brisbane German master Broich and Murdocca, they must be wondering what the hell has happened...the rest of the team can go leap....espepecially Thok...thako..theki..the goalie with the big chokko name, if he wasnt whining so much, he might have stopped that second Mariner goal...might have..
Mind you I was starting to have Season two flashbacks, the amount of lateral passing by Hutcho was making me dizzy...and how about young Zac...kids gonna be a gun if he does his Zwaanje lessons....my favourite Roar member JB texted me after the match saying that our second goal was over the back line...well, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades brother, maybe if we get goal line camera's that shit wont happen.....anyway
I think that we played roar spot on by sitting back and letting them pass it round, keeping tight, Zac Anderson is gun, Am thoroughly impressed with him...I think like him more then Tesco, looks like Zwaanje a bit as well , when it was the roar's goal kick Arnie would get 3 player (Mcbreen, Hutchinson and Rogic) to mark the defenders and Paartalu, Thea..Thoko..the keeper with the big chokko name, had no where to go, and didnt his game suck, he kicked it out like 3 or 4 times on the full, and that rooted their structure, as they had no outlet ....They really didnt have a clear cut chance at all, having said that, that was a cracker goal by Massimo
Lowlight of the game...That filthy tackle on Monty by Berisha...which was a straight red tackle by the way, ..Hell, he headbutted Hutcho and abused Mcbreen .....GEEZ, spent a 1/4 of an hour fighting with Broich and Partaluu...man's a friggin nutjob
TOO OUR BOYS:
Ryan: 6.5... good game didnt really have to do much, wish his left hook on the ball hit Berisha instead
Bojic. 7.5... for that great cross for the first goal he made... if nothing else
Sainsbury. 7... Had a great game...getting more solid as he goes along
Anderson. 9.5 the kids a true centre back ....he's going to go far
Rose 8.. good game, his runs down the line are great, best left back in the A-league....he will improve when Olly comes back full time
Ibini. 7... Great header for the first goal...BUT his not a winger though, also he needs to pass faster as he still gets the ball taken off him to easy
Montgomery. 8... Best buy of the season if you ask me, solid as a rock, great tackler, passer and runs all day...thought the heat would knock him , but it didnt
Hutchinson 6.5... some say the captaincy has really helped him, they say he's stepped up 3 gears this season , maybe, maybe not...
McGlinchey 7... he's our best winger for sure....cuts between the defence like a knife through butter.
Rogic 8.5... WOW... his ball skills are second to none, HOWEVER, a few of us up in bay 17 wish he would move a tad quicker than he does...congrats about the Socceroo call-up...not real sure I agree with it happening when we have Adelaide up next, rest assured , the overseas teams will start circling shortly
McBreen 7.5...Another consistent game, however he wasn't getting the balls like he usually does, I think he missed Zwaanje
Olly and Dukes...8.5 and 7.5 respectively....how good was it to see Olly back with the big boys, Dukes just needs game time, but while McBreen is in this form, he will be sub city only
Last but not least
ARNIE 10.00.... THE coaches coach...I think I like him more then Lawrie, . The Guvnor was great and a club legend... but....Arnie is a better coach by far, best in the league and what he has done with the money he has is outstanding and I think he likes the place ;)
One more thing about that friggin Berisha... what a scummy piece of work he is...his a friggin bully, no other way of putting it. I haven't hated a play as much as him since Joel "Sack Whacker" Griffiths....matter of fact his a combination of Kevin Muscat and Danny Tiatto and that makes for a dangerous player.
What a superb season so far. Bring on Snowtown United
