NYE TUSSLE...CCM v PERTH AT B.T

We had a team that been red and yellow carded to hell, injurys werent light on either and the average age of the squad wasbe 20-ish....BUT...an ugly win is still a win

I really thought that Fergie would have Perth pumped to kick our arse's...but,, not so much, that mongrel Burns and Van der Brink did some kicking, all the wrong kind , and all it got them was a yellow and a red each..I was sorta glad Tommy wasnt there because I had the feeling that Burns would of tried to maim him.

AND once again the greatest ref in captivity did an outstanding job..cudo's to you Mr. Delovski, cudo's

.Arnie surprised all us Bay 17 armchair experts by starting that gormless mountain of cack, Adrian Pellegrino in place of Tommy...I've said it before and i'll say it again, WHY?..the friggin donkey is  hopeless in the youth and is worse with the big boys at BT

And Wee Mickey was the captain, some cynics suggest that this is a bribe for him to stay, then there is the rumour about that Hutch is off to Asia REAL soon, and Mick was getting tested for the long term role... Up front was the never forgotten and constantly injured Kwasi also rumored to be playing for a contract....hmm, a bit of a worry

and Ollie Bozanic took on the Hutch role alongside Montgomery....I for one didnt miss Hutcho one little iota

Perth had one decent chance in the whole 90 + minutes – a great chance for Shane Smeltz which he horribly butchered, probably because he played like Stuart Smeltz from the Punchbowl All Age..oh how the mighty have fallen

In the first half the Mariners had little more to show for it – a Bojic cross that almost found Kwas but Vooks did good and was quick enough to deal with it and then in the last minute of the half,  a super sharp break down the left but again Vukovic stopped Kwas from Rosey’s cross.

The Boys turned the ignition, kicked into gear, and raised the tempo a 100%. Kwasnik netted one but was given off-side...I said he had one in him, just not that one... McGlinchey broke through on the left but couldn’t find a team mate. Bojic was revving up and making significant inroads on the right side and Olly Boz was supporting Rosey on the left.

Arnie made the no-brainer switch when he moved McGlinchey to the Rogic role and brought Ibini on out wide for Pellegrino who is, was and shall ever be CRAP...he never does any good when he steps up, Hell, he struggles in the yoof team, SO WHY PROMOTE HIM??...retire you dork

McGlinchey went for a direct run at the heart of the Perth backs and Van den Brink got a deserved yellow for bringing him down. Bojic nearly brained a dozen of the  the Yellow Army behind the goal with the free kick

Kwasnik looked in the mood, his unorthodox style unsettling the Perth defenders especially Van den Brink. Bernie’s improved pace gave them no respite on the right and when Bozanic’s cross found him he coolly chipped the ball past Vukovic to give the Mariners the lead...which proves to me that Bernie is a Super Sub and not a starter..those twats at Fox sports screamed Hand ball  but who cares? certainlky not Delovski and thats all that matters

The Mariners went on the boil and deserved a greater lead...Tesco almost made it two with a strong header but it went wide with Danny nowhere to be seen.... Bojic surged forward, found Kwasnik and went for the return which never came; Pedj had a wee mental swear over that one

Van den Brink got his second yellow with a nasty slide on Sterj..the resulting free kick almost scored after Vukovic fumbled, Bernie got greedy and belted the ball well over after cutting in from the right.

Perth did nothing. Duke came on and gave us a reminder of Matt Simon’s hustling to the cheers of the crowd. Brent Griffiths made a rare appearance as sub for the exhausted Bozanic.

It wasn’t pretty, it was never going to be, but the Mariners will be relieved to have got back to winning ways.

No need for Hutch to come back, Ollie did well

Mathew Ryan - 8.5...great game, catching them from all angles
Joshua Rose - 7.9 - getting back to some decent form after a couple of quiet ones
Mile Sterjovski - 8.0 - not bad for an old bloke, was everywhere
Pedj Bojic.  - 8.0 - took him a bit, but he got moving
Zachary Anderson - 8.8..If not Man of the Match, damn close

Adriano Pellegrino  - 4...yeah,  I said a four, and i'm being generous, made a fool of more then once
Oliver Bozanic .8.8 - ran his legs off, literally...great game
Michael McGlinchey - 8.8..great knock by the captain
Trent Sainsbury - 8.8...Trent and Zac are gonna be great
Nick Montgomery - 7.9 - A bit quiet of late
Adam Kwasnik - 7.0...Kwas did what Kwas does, ran his arse off..should had at least one

SUBS
Bernie Ibini - .he scored the goal, still needs some work
Brent Griffiths  - needs more game time Arnie..more than fkn Pellers at least
Mitchell Duke  - turning into Matty Simon V.2..and that's a a good thing

AND ON THE PENDING TRANSFER WINDOW

Ryan, Hutchinson, Rogic, McGlinchey and Ibini all rumoured to have OS offers. Ollie linked to Western Sydney Wanderers, a 38 year old dutchman with a groin injury (does he come back?) and Hearfield appears to be seemingly on the outer.

I've got the strangest feeling that we wont see Tommy again now..although after being shafted by the FFA, the kid should stick 2 fingers up at the A-league and tell Gallop and the MRP to bugger off for good.

While I don't mind seeing guys going OS for their careers sake I would just like to be building on a successful team in the next six months going into the ACL - not losing key players. This team with the draw they have - can do an Adelaide for a change and go a long way in the ACL - let's hope they get the chance

I've heard rumours of Hutch going to Asia - that in itself opens up more opportunities for both Ollie and Caceres...wonder if he can get Pellers to carry his bag
