Rnd 1: Perth Glory vs Us Over there

WELL....were back, and thats a bit astounding , because quite frankly , Walsmley and the season in general almost killed off Marinated World, Coming off the spoon, knocked out of the Ffa cup by an NPL side,  I just couldnt keep writing about negative shite, and my nan always said "if you cant say somethin nice about somebody, pull your head in" or something like that..ANYWAY, after that absolutley astounding first hit out , I thought what the hell, lets go again...so I did, and here it is...with Wombat, and a special guest  Joyful Penguin, giving their four pence worth too

I said  on the CCM fans forum on Thursday that a rousing victory would be bonz, but a draw will do , I also said it  wouldnt  be nil all...so I'm batting a 100 thus far
But how  good was that for a comeback...
outstanding effort by the boys

after an rather crappy first 45 by the former smurf a smart move by the gaffer was to  bench Jacque,  mind you there was, in all probability,  a the rocket and 3 packs of bungers fired off at half time in the shed , cant imagine Paulo would of been vastly impressed with the effort up to that point....I said to the missus that Glory probably  awarded Faty their MOM

its been mentioned that Faty should not be allowed anywhere near the pitch for the remainder of his time with the club, bit harsh maybe, Paulo reckons he copped a cork early on...we'll see

And then there was that  absolutely amazing second half....talk about a turnabout in fair play....I noticed that after his couz got benched Tav was actually pretty good ,  he got in a good groove, holding Glory guys off while setting up stuff, it must be said  Tav, moved around well and kept  us in possession. ....

and how good was That Boy Trent, he pretty much owned his side of the pitch , him and the bionic mariner (Stormy) linked up quite brilliantly it must be said.

Also, it has to be pointed out that the Glory  took there foot off the pedal and you never do that..

Kenny Lowe must be still spewing , training on Monday would of been a fire pit I would imagine.

To be honest we could of ended up with more than 3 down at half time , we were lucky with some of the bollocks  we managed to do at the back, but , it has to be said Ivan was amazing...methinks his out to prove to his former manager , you know Poppa Smurf, that he warranted some minutes last year...yep, Ivan was the ducks guts

We were all over them in the  2nd half (except when they had a occasional good run at goal) and we made a number of good, consecutive runs at goal.....and of course lets not forget our very own Irish good luck charm Royo the boyo who got a couple as well

THAT's the part that's actually made this season a bit more interesting....AND to top it off Blake Powell incorporated Reddy's noggin thus making Liam SCORE for CCM !...BAHAHAHAHAHA

Tav looks like a very good player.
Ivan shits on Izzo.

Back 4 needs a lot of work. Posco overall our best defender.
Our passing needs to improve but our movement was good.
Kwabi's  shot was horrific......but somehow we scored
Pain and Budgie were outstanding.
Roy looks full of goals and would have had a hatrick if it wasn't for a world class save by Reddy.
Huge credit to Paul for hooking Faty. Tony or Moss wouldn't have.
Faty is a 3 not a 0....He will be an asset but has to learn......you play like a dog.......you get yanked off.
Sydney are beatable but they finished their chances well. I can see another draw.

Ivan Necevski: 9
Kept us in the game and only mistakes were a few dodgy passes but did terrifically well. Cementing the number one spot.
Storm Roux: 6.75
Struggled with fitness and two of their goals came from crosses from his side will get better as he regains fitness. Made great forward runs in the second half and linked up well with Tavares and Buhagiar.
Ryan Peterson: 6
Had lots of heart and defended reasonably well but struggled to offer anything on the ball.

Jacob Poscoliero: 7.5
Was the best of our defense but was caught out of position a couple of times made great decisions on the ball and never rushed the possession game.
Jacques Faty: 0
Deservedly got dragged and doesn't deserve a spot on the plane home. Was lazy and didn't care and was constantly out of position not only defensively but offensively as well.
Jake McGing: 6
Played well but struggled to deal with Keogh and was saved by Necevski numerous times. Kept possession well and resisted the urge to bomb it long when pressed.
Michael Neill: 6
Had a great partnership with Connor Pain down the left side but needs to overlap more. Passing was poor in the first half but improved needs to work on his positioning.
Mickael Tavares: 7.5
Was terrible in the first half epitomized by trying to take on a player in his own box. Improved massively and linked well with Poscoliero and Roux. Connected the team and was apart of our best moves.
Nick Montgomery: 6.5
Had trouble breaking up play and often tried the hard ball instead of the easy one. Frustrated Powell and needs to get back to basics. Joined well with Pain but didn't have his best night.
Blake Powell: 4
Was mostly invisible and had minimal impact. Out of position and it showed.
Trent Buhagiar: 8.5
Was a shining light in the first half and worked tirelessly forward and back. Raw but promising and looked more than comfortable. Showed technical class with his assist.
Kwabena Appiah: 5.5
Had good positioning and a decent strike but needed to attack with his pace more.
Roy O'Donovan: 9
Did everything you could have asked of him and delivered when it counted. Fabulous penalty and great positioning for his first goal.
Connor Pain: 9.5
Worked harder than anyone else and deserved his man of the match. His control failed him once or twice but was fantastic down his left side.
Paul Okon: 8.5

Obviously delivered a magical half time team talk and was brave in dragging Faty. Had a clear game plan and is making the team believe in it.

Overall great result. Perth destroyed us first half, so we have plenty to work on. But we were (pretty much) Outstanding in the second half , SO, here is  some hope. Before that all I could think was Sydney were going to beat us 10 nil next week. Now I think it might be a draw

and Cudos to the lads, the gaffer and Shaun for signing my masterpiece at The Fan Day
