WELL..how about that,
I'm always quietly confident we will give the ACL a shake, but top of the group
stuns even me....Man of the Mmatch, goes without saying, Reddy the Monolith of
the Mariners..what a HUGE game....
CernaK, got him till
May, can we shift him sooner?Seeya, Fitzy was a bit quiet, ...Monty had a
shocker, there has been rumours that he has been getting interest from a korean
club, my theory on players being distracted by the shop window being opened could
apply here I think, every time he got the ball you could feel the Ancient
Mariners in Bay 17 tense up, Wombat, Oz Baggie and moi were very relieved when
Storm came on......
Rostyns brother was o.k BUT he should give back Zwaanjes
shirt, he hasn't near earned the #6...Zac could of done better, but I seem to
be saying that a lot....Rosey, who quite frankly is on fire again, his presence
of mind to head the ball over the line near our goal was brilliant....
Hutcho,
Stormy, Bernie and Kim were giving it some..Dooks tried hard....and as for
Marcel the Dutch farmer, to quote the boss, Mr Moss, "The technique
involved in that volley was fantastic."
My cousin in Maastricht twitted me after the
game and sang Marcel's praises...not something I thought I'd hear from that
Venlo hating rellie of mine...someone said Seip needs a challenge, I agree,
with 2 games to go, give him 20 minutes next to Monty or Kim and see what
happens..
.The Leferlee was a knob, the liney on the western side had a firm
grasp of the offside rule....Beijing done nothing for me, their fans did get a
bit rowdy, it was good to see more than a couple of dozen away fans ...as for
our fans, who knew 3000 people could make that much racket...methinks the over
hanging roof made the Army and The Brasstards a couple of notches louder for
certain...
The atmosphere at
games these days is FRIGGIN AWESOME. pats on the back all 'round to PeterPrior
on megeaphone, The Brasstards And the Yellow Army in general
NOW...for the rest of
the tournament and the remaining HAL, all I ask is that the team need to stop
second guessing themselves and SHOOT
The Ref looked as
bent as a Banana.....Great fun tonight.....Great atmosphere.....Cracked up when
I saw yellow army had taken over a couple of corporate boxes
We were the better
side....Cernak is not much chop....Griff2 is not a patch on his brother.....Siep
was good and the goal was lovely.....Reddy is a brilliant keeper.
Bernie must be
re-signed....Fitz was gash....where has his confidence gone all of a sudden?
I read an interesting
quote:
This season saw the
equivalent of the team copping a shotgun wound to the thigh that would cripple
most. What do the Mariners do? Stumble a little then run even faster.
Couldnt agree more, I
thought for sure just after Arnie split, that our season was done for all
money...now, I'll be the first to admit that I was wrong, and Mossie has done an
ridiculously great job of keeping the boys on target and playing almost like
the champion squad of last year...here's to a sterling finish and domination of the semi's...Look out Malvey..Here come Mossie's Mariners
