This was the game that was supposed to be played at Brookvale Oval, but it wasnt, the travelling Adelaide fans had to rent a bus cause their hotel room were on the Peninsula near Brookvale, anyway, they moved the game and we happily paid the $10 bucks to support the boys, AND someone at CCM HQ was supposed to add them to our memberships BUT they didnt, or at least screwed it up, both of our members passes didn't work and the stadium staff, who were copping a bloody earful just waved us through, I saw Bruce and the CCM Media dude near the Villies pie stand, looking most friggin stressed..GOOD....
once again someone in the office staff at CCM HQ proved they earn their money...NOT!...oh and a 5pm kickoff on a Saturday is the shits, people are still at work or playing sport, but I guess that dont matter to FoxTel or whoever controls the draw
Fitzy was on the dr jekyll and mr hyde jucie, taking the ball from open spaces into traffic and losing it was a bit of a theme in the first half, he seemed to be constantly second guessing himself when it came to shot taking, but when the team has been playing like it has, thats almost understandable. ....
Hutch was on fire, hanging around the forwards being all aggressive and attacking, I was almost expecting a replay of that game he had v Smurfs many yonks ago were he was banging them in from distance...It was bonz to see Monty back on the run on list, he played the game in a much deeper role....Matty Simon and Dukey were being pests , although neither of 'em looked like really scoring
Travis Major, Anthony Kalik and Liam Rose were good off the bench. Kalik has great touch. Saw some good link up play. Liam is confident and creates time on the ball, they just need to adjust to the pace of the game. They lost the ball a few times just because they didn't have the time they are used to....
Our back 4 were quite good, hands up who missed Zac Anderson, anyone?...nope didnt think so... to be honest, I thought that they were gonna do to us what they did to the Scummers, or a rough approximation there of.....
now, admittedly, Adelaide seemed to find it easy to get into the final third but had nothing to finish off with. Their only goal came off a defensive error by Stormy standing where he shoudnt have been and a poor clearance on the other side. ...You can bet that big freindly bear of a coach, Gumbo, must of been absolutely spewing......
with Scum dropping all three points at home on Friday, and WSW losing earlier, these three points are absolutely huge for us at this stage of the season. With the Fabio Ferreira to be added, things are looking marginally brighter.
4500 to a game in Gosford should be the final nail for the senior management....A key to this clubs survival is your membership and you've now lost credibility with them.
If Peter Storrie is here to fix things then he ends the ridiculous tenure of the CEO and keeps weilding the axe....
Tonights pathetic crowd embarsses us all, not just the management of the club, they alone are responsible for their atrocious handling of the game and it's issues, we now are a laughing stock again amongst the league.....We will never get through this with the current decision making being done by those who are full of self interest.....Oh and in the spirit of fair play and this new "gentlems agreement" our club seems to have undertaken ....Adelaide should of played with 7
I thought we would get 6.5k so I was shocked by the crowd.....however, Charlesworth deserved that crowd!....You can't continue to take the piss and expect people to take it.
Both the Scum and us have been laughable as Football sides and run like a shambolic mess this season and both clubs got the crowds we deserved this weekend.
The Brookvale fiasco cost us 3000 bums this week.
SO...to Friday, we got the Roar visiting The Fortress and if they play against us like they played against the Scummer's, we may very well, get two wins in a row...fingers crossed I didnt just jinx us.
