ITS BEEN A ROUGH YEAR THUS FAR

You know Its been a rough season, when I cant motivate myself to do my weekly blog about the Mariners and their most recent hit out....same with Wombat, he is struggling to come upo with his points out of 10, mainly because almost everyone would be getting 4 or less and thats being real generous for the most part....a good 80% of the squad just havent been playing well enough. often enough this year.

The blogaroo is up over a 110 entries ....and to be fair, I rip them when they need it, but, I cant bring myself to do a whole blog week after week telling of their ineptittude and  uselessness on the pitch.

The non blogging began sometime around our fearless owners decision to take the Mariners to that antiquated piece of junk field at North Sydney, this created the #STANDUPFORTHEMARINERS group...and a fine job their doing too, drumming up crowds for the day after Boxing day test v Brisbane....

Although like I said to that bloke from the Express Advocate at the protest on the night of the NSO debacle, the boys have to be seen to be playing some brand of entertaining footy that will attract the crowds ...THEY AINT!...not even by a long shot....OH Yeah, and bloody Charlesworth has taken  a game to Brookvale Oval as well in the new year, you know Brookvale Oval, the ground with NO public transport, well none to speak of...I hope Mossy can empty his contact list into the stands, cause....

Anyway....back to recent results, Victory done us by 3...Perth done us by 4...HELL, we only just scraped a draw with City, the Nux and the Scummers...BUT...our coach, who is a real nice guy with a positive attitude and is apprently wearing rose colored sunnies, keeps spitting out ridiculous bloody platitudes, that make no sense at all.....Lots of long term Mariner fans I know, have turned on him...and I'm one of them.

One of the major things that have annoyed fans is Mossys shopping skills, he goes shopping in the State league, for the most part,  he did bring in Malick Mane who pretty much accomplished nothing before getting homesick and then being released....Fair enough, he did sign Tricky Triffiro and Jacob Poscilero...but then he turned around and signed Matt Simm, who apart from scoring a shitload of goals against those part timers in the Palm Beach Sharks, seems scared and or lost on the pitch.....

Sure, Mossy has stuck to the Youth promotion theory that Arnie started, in some minimalistic form, , Micheal Neill has done good for himself, his even pushed Rosie into the centre of defence....lets talk defence, shall we?, we dont have any, well, we do for 20-30 minutes, then they go ni-ni and the goals rain down...Zac Anderson, if we could drop guys further than the youth, this si one bloke I'd flick in a second, I dont care if he is ruggedly handsome and a Cleo batchelor of the year nomination, he general style of play is bloody annoying, I couldnt tell you how many times, us up in Bay 17, have yelled at the clueless putz to stop holding the ball while the opposition get into position to clobber his team mates, he was once touted to be a future Mariners captain..HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...hope not.

I've heard some rumours about Fast Eddie Bosnar being a bit of an issue in the sheds, cant speak to these of course, BUT, his sudden disappearance from the squad and the bench for weeks does raise some questions..although he did make it back to the bench for the slaughter in Perth

And then there is the other end, do you know that there are PLAYERS ( Burns, Berisha etc) in other teams that have the same tally of goals that our whole team has managed this year, thank the footballing gods for Matty Simon or we wouldnt have bloody any more than likely....whose to blame, the mids for not getting the ball up there...sounds fair enough, it sure as hell aint Bay 16s fault.

That Perth Glory result will kill us getting the not so interested fan in on the 27th. Questions need to be asked where the direction of the football side of things is. ...We are nowhere near top 4/5/6 and falling further away....There's going to come a time when people need to go..especially if Moss keeps spitting out classics like these after the Glory slapping ....

We got beat 4-1 and never looked scoring another while they could have had 5 or 6. So I guess he's right?.....Mossy knows the players better than anyone but we are 8th and on form it's where we should be really. I don't think there's been 1 game I thought " we should have won that"

In 5 days we make a statement. Whether it's a big one or not we need to keep pushing. There's been so much support for ‪#‎standupforthemariners‬ we know it's working. People who haven't been to a game in years are at the very least talking about it again. 
Keep spreading the word.

P.S I miss Arnie.

The season is a disaster so far and unless Mossy changes strategy if will remain so and he will be out if a job.....We appear to be going no where and have gone backwards against every other side we have faced so far this year....I'd love to know what the 3 year plan is because the 1 year plan is pretty bloody woeful.....Mind you, Moss would say he has a 3 year plan wouldn't he.....as he has a 3 year contract.....Vernes might turn out to be decent....Triffiro is probably his best signing so far....everything else appears to be a Massive fail.....As for Malick Mane, To be honest, I think he was shocked at how bad we were and how he was being asked to play.
I'm tipping if he had joined a successful team he would still be here.

The NSO game was an abject failure. The crowd was smaller than last year. The atmosphere was worse than last year. The club (mc) spent a small fortune trying to sell the game and gave away thousands of freebies........the result had to be embarrasing for the owner

Oh and Charlesworth if selling some 3 game membership to some North Shore people is something to be excited about then I'm going to bring my Cattle Dog Charlie in to run sales and marketing for CCM.....couldnt be any worse

So, to end, you have heard all the blah de blah about how were re-building and how, if we scored more goals , we would of won...bottom line is this ....
Moss is in over his head, whether he wants to admit it or not, and its this level of managing and shithouse tactics that have driven away some long term fans I know of.....you know the joints in trouble when 10 year fans are going f**kit....and there is one way to sort it out ....so ......
