RND 12 - CCM v ROAR..The day the fans stood up

ARRRRHHHHH....another draw, still could be worse, Henrique might of been in a mood and got a hat trick..BUT..the boys queing up too have a go at goal, been a while since that sort of passion was shown I reckon.

Duke V Matty....Dont get me wrong, I like Mitch, but the past little while, he seems to have lost his mojo and appears to  give up the chase too easy, while the East Gosford Sportsman of the Millenium just keeps on chugging along, charging about annoying the bejeezus out of everybody in the other shirt [and the ref]

Rose and Roux running down the flanks was really good...almost back to the old days for Rosey when Olly Bozanic was in front of him, as for Stormy, well, thats his usual pace aint it? .

Unless the club buys another purpose built striker in the window, I reckon Matty and Fitzy should be the starting two up front....Still not convinced about Sim, lets be honest he hasnt done a whole lot since he filleted the Sharks in that FFA Cup round,  I'd be starting Vernes ahead of him always....and congrats to Triffers for signing a contract extension...now go get some higher learning off of Monty :)

And then there is Kimmy, I  cant believe Kim scored, I mean Ive seen him score on You Tube and I was starting to think we bought that blokes identical twin brother who is a chess player instead...lovely piece of alertness in  tracking the ball led to him getting his first mariner goal, he got a yellow for taking his shirt off in front of Bay 16, imagine what he will take off if he kicks the winning penalty in a grand final...got the feeling that wont be his last goal

Then there was Bosnar's semi Zwaanswijk like goal.....firstly , goodonya Eddie for scoring it, well done, its what happened after that irks just about everyone I know
Bosnar's goal celebration was just wrong, Kim jumped the fence shirtless, Matty juped the fence and hugged his mates... the bloody neanderthal ran to the fence, didnt jump over it and quite blatantly signalled for Bay 16 to knock off the celebration ....

Bosnar says he didnt mean to offend, WELL, it sure lookd like he was trying to....what ever happened to the no dickhead policy Arnie talked about, speaking of Bosnar....the Mariners defence, or as we call them at home, Swiss and The Cheeses...firstly, they need to stop passing across the goal as much as they do, one day someone with initative is going to make them look real stupid while their doing that.

if we can score a solid defender in the window, someone Pat like, who can teach Zac and Pos what to do and when to do it..unlike Bosnar who screams and points fingers...once we sort out the defence, Reddy might get back to being a solid keeper again......the last goal  Brissy scored was awful all  4 guys were ball watching.

The Yellow Army did an amazing job yesterday, the Wizard of Oz  theme was brilliant, wonder how many people got it? , there's no doubt in my mind that the crowd response was part of the reason why the team lifted and got the fighting will back in the second half .....as for the crowd figure, 9,932..BULLSHIT....had to be much more than that

Plenty of emotion from Kim when he scored tonight. He's done it tough since he came here. Maybe it's the making of him?

So there was a ticketing issue so they called 9900 odd the crowd. Funny how it sits just under the break even number.

Note to Bosnar. You don't tell us to shut up when you score. You've been rubbish and deserved criticism. sorry,  but when one of our players tells us to shut up we take offense to it.on the other hand,  Kim's celebration was brilliant.

Lets talk the recent arrival of the  #STANDUPFORTHEMARINERS group
It was formed to drive the point home to "the owner" that the clubs engagement with the population, which used to be good, now isnt, and that moving games isnt the answer, promoting games on the coast is.... Laurie McKinna, or as I call him, Hizzonor has put so much time and effort into promoting the Mariners and for no financial gain. He gave up his ambassador role which he was getting paid for to stand up for the Mariners on the coast.

Before the game , Laurie led a rally in Kibble park, luminaries such as  Fish, Eggy, Gabby Bowles, Chris Holstein and a bloke from CCF (whose name eludes me, but he spoke brilliantly} all spoke of their passion that has been born over these past ten years and all agreed in one way or another that moving more "home" games away from our region for many fans is the wrong move and will drive fans away, not get them in.

here is a post I found by Hizzonor.... ‪#‎standupforthemariners‬ Was it a success , we wanted over 10,400 and the crowd announced by the club was 9,932.  Ticketek had a problem on match day and hopefully we will have the official crowd in the next few days. The last home game against Adelaide was 6,391 so we had an increase of 3,541 which is an increase of 55% which is a huge increase especially when our team has lost 3 and drawn 2 games before the Brisbane game. In my opinion the crowd looked to be around 11,000 but we will get the actual crowd in the next few days hopefully.

We had over 300 at the rally in Kibble park which was another huge success. The crowd during the full game were amazing and felt engaged for the first time in a long while and the team showed plenty of fight and spirit in the second half and had the crowd on the edge of their seats. To see people in the crowd cry when they stood up and applauded after 10 mins of the game showed what our team means to the people of the Central coast. Yes #standupforthemariners was a huge success and now we have to do it all over again on the 4 January against Melbourne City congratulations to the fans of the Central Coast Mariner. Please share

I hear tell that Hizzonor and a certain media person from a local footy club got into a twitter war about the group, to that media person...BOIL YA SKULL NITWIT AND DO THE JOB WE ARE DOING FOR YA.

Oh, on a more pleasant note...Happy Birthday Hutcho...you legend you

ANYWAY.....now the boys have witnessed what can be achieved, lets hope they suitably motivated to smack the Drive Bys and then return to a fairly full Fortress for the Manchester City South game on January 3 at 5.00pm
